EAST RUTHERFORD - Maybe things were destined to end favorably for the Giants.
After back-to-back embarrassing losses, the Giants were due.
Eli Manning hit a prayer on fourth down with a 34-yard completion to Roger Lewis Jr., setting the stage for Aldrick Rosas' game-winning field goal from 23 yards out with 1:54 remaining in overtime.
The Giants (2-8) avoided matching the worst start after 10 games in franchise history (1-9 in 1976). The Chiefs (6-4) entered the game as 10.5-point favorites over the Giants, who won at MetLife Stadium for the first time this season.
Lewis' remarkable catch came while he was on the ground after being interfered with by Chiefs cornerback Phillip Gaines.
Giants, Chiefs head to OT
Harrison Butker's third field goal with one second remaining pulled the Chiefs even and forced overtime.
The Giants had taken a 9-6 lead when Aldrick Rosas knocked home a 26-yarder, set up by Janoris Jenkins' interception of Alex Smith.
